Some "friend" I turned out to be
If you're a keen observer of everything I write in this blog, you might've noticed that I wrote a little notice for my friends who didn't invite me for a little party they had this weekend. It was all written in a sarcastic tone (or at least it was in my head), and I was trying to blow it a bit out of proportion. Apparently hostess got a bit upset by this and called me a hypocrite in her blog. Now, I don't know if she said this trying to be, y'know, sarcastic and all, but the way I interpreted it she meant every word.
And I'd like to make an official apology here to Siri, and I promise that I won't try to blow things out of proportion again in an attempt to be funny. If I'm able to stick to that promise or not is an entirely different topic altogether.

^^Those three dots up there I stole from Neil Gaiman. He does that in his journal when he moves over to a different subject. Woohoo.
So the new subject is...: MUSIX.
I've been listening to it a lot lately, and here are a few recommendations:
Transistor, Transistor
Got their debut full-length yesterday and it's absolutely devastating. It's called Erase All Name And Likeness and it's kinda punky, black metal. I only call it punky, black metal because on their site they praise black metal as one of their favorite things in the whole wide world. It's more like punky, hardcore and I love it to bits. Sat down with the lyric-sheet this morning and read while I listened, and I must say it's all top drawer. You can have a listen at their Myspace site:
www.myspace.com/transistortransistor and I suggest you start with Sweet William, it's a pretty short song but it sums up their musical soundscape very well. As they say in that very song:
Not for the faint of heart. The Letters Organize
I got their debut full-length some time ago and I've completely forgotten to recommend it. The Cd's called Dead Rhytm Machine and I think that sums it up nicely. It's hardcore with a penchant for fine lyricism (is there a theme going on here??). The songs on the album sounded pretty samey at first, but when I sat down, read the lyrics, listened to the immense riffage it all became soooo much better. Check out their myspace:
www.myspace.com/thelettersorganize and start with They Call It Rock N' Roll (And Other Lies), it's one of my favorite tunes on the album.
Hope you enjoy it if you decide to check it out.
Bye
