How happy is the blameless vestal's lot? The world forgetting, by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
Damn.
This weekend I’ve watched two of the best movies I’ve ever seen, one of them (Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind) I just finished watching. What an amazing movie. Its originality stunned me, it was like a jig-saw puzzle where you don’t know what the outcome will be until you put in the last piece, and when you get that last piece right, you just can’t help but feel enlightened (I am the king of metaphors). Well, I don’t know if it made me feel enlightened, but it certainly made me chuckle. I’ll end this paragraph by saying: I bought this movie and I think you should too. Your DVD-collection wouldn’t be complete without it.
…and scene.
Last night we seniors of our school threw a party for the faculty staff. It was at a local hotel/restaurant/disco/bar. When we arrived we got a welcome-drink that tasted like shit, but I think most of the people there drank it, and then the waitresses walked from table to table to ask what our free drink would be (it was a buffet with a complimentary drink sort of thing at the beginning). I ordered myself a beer. After we’d finished eating, the drunken hostesses had some announcements to make. The announcements were some pretty lame jokes which got some sympathy-laughs (I sure hope they were sympathy-laughs, if not I’m going to school with some pretty deranged people) followed by applause. Then my class had some gifts to our teachers. One got a piece of wood to fix a fence that he’d run over with the school-bus (with my class in the bus witnessing the whole thing). And I’m not sure what the others got.
After that we went down to the disco/bar to get jiggy with it (Memo to self: Make a CD with Getting’ Jiggy With It for next party). I think I only danced once the entire night, so I spent the rest of the night chatting with people. And I think I got a rather embarrassing picture taken of myself. It included a nice long, pink scarf and a ladies purse. If I get a copy of it I’ll put it up here. Just to show I’m not embarrassed. Ha!
All in all I think the night was pretty much a success, and I had a very good time.
On another note: I got At The Drive-In –Relationship Of Command, and The Roots – The Tipping Point this Friday. I’ve only listened to the first and it sounds phenomenal. I wouldn’t expect anything less, it being a classic and all. BEWARE! BEWARE!
That’s it for now, folks. I’ve got to put the finishing touches on my oral presentation for tomorrow.
Laters.
