Don't blame it on the sunshine / Don't blame it on moonlight / Don't blame it on the good times / Blame it on the boogie!
My heart skipped a beat last weekend.
I went through my usual weekend-routine: Log on to the internet, read through various music-sites such as pitchforkmedia.com, go to russ.no to send messages to russ around Norway(again: Russ is an ancient custom here in Norway which the 18year-olds go through, and don't ask me to elaborate or else.... KNIFE TO THE EYE!), and finally I go to blogger.com to ramble on about sunshine, moonlight, good-times and that goddamn boogie...
But this weekend when i logged on the only thing I could do was check my profile, you see the site I use as my template(I think that's what it's called) had crashed or was up for maintenance or something so I naturally thought my existance as a blogger had seized to... you know, exist. So I paced around the house, cursing at the blasted home.no(the fore-mentioned template) and ate some small oranges. I forget if they're called mandarins or clementines in English... whateva. But on monday my blog was up and I praised the spirit of x-mas, because this was truly a christmas-miracle! And whatever you say, you can't take that away from me. Or, maybe you can, but please don't try.
My christmas-holiday is now officially on. I'm looking forward to spending time with my family, eating a shitload of stickmeat(ancient yuletide-food here in ye ole Noreway), opening presents and trying to read two books which combined get to a total of about 1300 pages. That's 1300 pages in 14 days. The two books are The Wheel Of Time by Robert Jordan(Yeah, I'm a bit of a fantasy-nerd... sue me) and Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. I'm about 200 pages into the Wheel of Time and it's very exciting so I doubt I'll have any problems finishing it within these 14 days, and people say that Dan Brown is the J.K. Rowling for adults so I can only hope that I have the same experience with his books as I had with the first 4 Harry Potter -books. Oh, and Dan writes more detective-type stories, not about children going to wizard/witch-school.
Cursive and The Faint are my two new favorite bands, so if I get money for x-mas I might be buying Domestica by Cursive and A Song To Ruin by Million Dead. I just have to have that Million Dead album. They're an amazing band. The lyrics are top notch and the music is a like punch to the face. And ya'll know how much I love punches to the face... in the form of music, not fists.
Anywho, I think that's enough for today. Tomorrow I'll be writing about my all-time favorite christmas-songs, and that one song that makes me long for stickmeat, presents, decorated trees and fat, bearded men in red suits. I think I can assure you that you'll either be shocked by my choice or you'll totally agree.
Until tomorrow, happy x-mas holiday peoples!
Good time to roll on.
